Sat in the busy city centre this classy Italian has lived on The Headrow, Leeds since 1976. Serving classic inspired dishes in a comfortable, clean and contemporary atmosphere, you will be transported to Naples with the food and scenery.
My Mum and I visited for a big bowl of pasta and a big serving of great customer service and smiles. It is clear to see how they have lasted 43 years and counting.
We shared a bruschetta to start which featured a finely chopped fresh tomatoes, onions, garlic, basil and a drizzle of pesto.
Beautifully crisp bread, salad and fresh flavours.
For main, as mentioned, we like pasta, and these did not disappoint – Mum had the Tagliatelle al Fungi (Mushroom tagliatelle in a creamy tarragon sauce). Of course, I was allowed a little taste, bold garlicky flavours and tarragon complemented this simple but great dish.
I had my go-to favourite Penne Romana (a dish of penne pasta, tossed with chicken, sun-dried tomatoes, mushrooms and a creamy pesto sauce). The pasta was al-dente, the sauce rich, and the food filling.
We would definitely visit again. Mum has been previously when they first opened and says the persona and food remains as good as when they first opened their doors.
They are also offering a great deal, you pay just £7.50 for any pasta or pizza this January. So get yourself down to calm the January blues, and enjoy!
