To a Northerner Garfunkel’s is like a Southerners Frankie and Benny’s. The all-day dining eatery has a modern interior and a natural, comfortable family-dining experience.
The staff here are polite, friendly and helpful. Prices are about average for a chain restaurant of this type, with a range of breakfast options, British food, pastas and pizzas.
During our stay in Kensington we ate breakfast here. Myself and my sister had the classic breakfast, my partner had Garfunkel’s larger offering and my mum had the vegetarian option. The veggie was slightly more exciting than your usual frozen vegetarian sausage offering as it comes with grilled vegetables, eggs and beans. “Something a little different in a world full of quorn sausages,” said my mum, Linda.
The food was tasty and filling. The sausages were lean and the bacon was thick. Three of us had scrambled eggs which were cooked to perfection. My sister, Sarah, said: “These scrambled eggs are the nicest I’ve had.”
When we next visit London, we will be sure to visit again and see the lovely staff once more.
